I made dumplings for dinner. This recipe is passed down from my Great Grandma Bea. She taught Grandma and Momma learned it from her. I learned it from Momma. Here is the recipe
- 4 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 2 eggs
Mix together and the dough will be gooey. You can add more water or flour if you need to. Mine was a little gooey, but was still good.
Get a spoon and get about 1/4 a spoonful of dumpling stuff in it. Drop the dough into boiling water. Wait till it goes to the top, and put in a container. Stir occasionally. Momma said it is okay to make a bunch of dumplings before taking them out if you want. If you don’t cook them long enough, they will be very very gooey and gross!
Momma said the BEST way to eat them is with butter, onions and garlic powder and a little salt. We had them in tomato soup, but having them in home made chicken egg drop soup is much better!
