Swamp Tromp

Swamp TrompWalkingClimbing outThe Swamp Tromp was fun!

We got to go into a swamp. Megan went too. You could walk in the swamp. You could sink into it some a little bit.  If I jumped, it would be bouncy by the cattails.

Miss Krista said because of all the rain it was really sticky and extra wet. There were six shoes that got lost. (Megan keeps saying “Momma lost Anya’s shoe! Miss Krista found Anya’s shoe!” She had swapped shoes with Andrea because Megan kept bugging to go in the swamp, and Momma had on her good sandals.)

I never lost my boots. But muck, muck and more muck got into my boots. I fell down two times. Then when we washed up, I slipped at least three times.

I really want to do it again!

Herp’s

TurtleHerps are reptiles and amphibians. Turtles and snakes are reptiles. They lay their eggs on land. Some reptiles lay live young.BullfrogTiger Salamander

Frogs, toads and Tiger Salamanders are amphibians. They lay eggs in the water.

I wanted to hold all these animals because I like them. Miss Krista said we could hold the reptiles and amphibians after camp. I wanted to hold them, but it was not really hard to wait. Class was only 4 hours and a lot of fun.

The big kids had Indiana Jr. Naturalist Day Camp and it was longer, 8-5 for a week. Ours was 9-1 for three days. I did not think that was very fair! They got more time and more days. But, I would rather have 9-1 for a week, I was not really tired, but I was.

CornsnakeI had fun at camp. I hope to go again next year.Frog

Nature Explorer Camp

Adrian climbing thingI am going to camp this week. This is my first away from home camp!

Yesterday, I learned about forests. We looked for real live dead pretend animals. Their skins are real, but the rest isn’t, they were stuffed. There was a fox with pretend snow on it 🙂  There was the Lorax too (a stuffed toy like in Dr. Suess’s book)

For lunch I ate and ate and ate. I traded a green apple, for a red/green apple. I swapped gold fish crackers for pistachios. Then I traded half a cookie for half of an orange/black oat bar. I traded with two different people. Both of them are my friends.

Today I am meeting Live Herps (they are like turtles and salamanders and snakes!) We are also going to do Swamp tromp. We will go into a swamp and get muddy in it. Then I eat lunch and then we get to make our camp t-shirts!

We are praying that we don’t have thunderstorms until the afternoons this week. I don’t want to miss any of camp!

Last Game

AdrianMy last game was fun but hard. They got two points very quick. Slowly, by slowly we got two points. Then we got three. Then, suddenly, just a few minutes after the second half started, “toof”, they got a goal! We fought for another goal. They were good, but we played a bit harder than normal. We ended up having a tie! Momma said this was our most exciting game!

Soccer Game

AdrianAdrian throw On Saturday, we only had half our team to start the game. Then in the middle of the first “quarter”, we got another player.

Adrian waitingWe won an undefeated team by one point. This is the third time we played them. When we played them before, they “creamed” us. We did not know they were undefeated until Momma overheard someone talking about it.

Adrian chasingNext week is our last game.

Mommy Camp

tire

This week, the big kids are at camp from 8-5:00. The class starts at Oxbow Park and then they go different places.  So Megan and I get two weeks of Mommy Camp this year!

We do some painting. We have naps or we can read. Today we went to the park. We looked for good pictures. I counted 100 butterflies! Most of them where at the park. We played on the tire swing. We played on the tire swing. We played on the tire swing (it was my favorite place to play today).

I made up a song. It was about going to Jupito with a beautiful girl with blue eyes on a tire swing. “We are going to Juipito, with a beautiful girl, with blue eyes, and a blue dress and red and white. We are going to go on a tire swing to go to Jupito! If someone will push us, we will twirl off the tire swing and twirl to Jupito off the tire swing.  To Jupito….”

We have two more days of Mommy Camp this week.  Mommy Camp is a lot of fun!

Feather

feather

I found this feather at Oxbow Park. We were going across a boardwalk and I was walking ahead of Momma. I took this picture because the feather was sort of fluffy and sort of smooth. It was really nice. I thought it looked neat on the boards.

Saturday’s Game

GameMomma said we did a good job playing together this week. She said a few parents even said it was our best game yet.  We played hard and for the first time in a long time, we won!

ScoreWe have two more games. I hope we play good together again. It was fun!

Wet Picture!

Adrian at BonneyvilleMy friend  took this picture of me at a park. We were walking on a trial by the river. There was a lot of water.  We took a short cut across the water. First time you stepped into it, the water was deep. But the more steps you took, the more you got into a sand bar. If you go off the sandbar, there is deep water. There was some water over my head. I found it accidentally when I went under.

There was a tunnel. I played in it a little bit. Most of the shells that I found was in the sandbar. Audrey found two big ones for me. I found a lot of shells. I found some shells at two waterfalls also.

Cowboy Cookies Supreme

CookiesI asked Mom if I could make cookies. She said I could put any kind of chocolate chips in it.

So I made our favorite cowboy cookies even better!

2/3 Cups sugar
3/4 cup coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
1 Cup softened butter
1 Cup soft white wheat flour
1 Cup almond flour
1 Teaspoon baking soda
1/2 Teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs
1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
2 Cups oatmeal
1 Cup unsweetened coconut
1 Cup raisins
1/4 cup each mini chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, white chocolate chips and dark chocolate chips

Cream together sugars and butter, add eggs.
Add remaining ingredients and stir well. It will be thick!
Roll into balls, roll in vanilla sugar and place on cookie sheet. Flatten with glass.
Bake 350 degrees F. for 15 minutes. Remove to cooling rack to cool.
